Bethel is surrounded on three sides by the City of St. Francis and is bordered on the east side by East Bethel. County 24 serves as a main route in the community and Minnesota Highway 65 is nearby. While Bethel is not really a booming town, it has seen its share of growth over the years. The population was 443 at the 2000 census. During estimates in July of 2006, Bethel had grown to approximately 519 residents. That's over a 17% change in 6 years! Bethel is a very family friendly town, with almost half of residences having children under the age of eighteen living in the household.
