The Home of the Month program is a partnership between the Star Tribune and the Minnesota chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).  A jury f experts selects the 12 architect designed houses, representing a range of price levels, styles, and locations. The Home of the Month then appears in the Star Tribune the first Saturday of every month.

To celebrate another year of Home of the Month, and to learn more about the psychology behind architectural design, come to an event on March 18 at Studio 185 in Minneapolis. There, the next 12 Home of the Month winners will be announced and a keynote speaker will give a presentation.

The keynote speaker will be Toby Israel, an architect based in of Princeton, N.J. and author of "Some Place Like Home: Using Design Psychology to Create Ideal Places." Her practice focuses on designing houses "from the inside out" to create spaces with meaning and soul.

The doors at Studio 185 in International Market Square open at 5:00 p.m. Israel's presentation begins at 6 p.m. with a question and answer session following. Tickets are $15, including light appetizers. Call 612-338-6763 or go to www.aia-mn.org.
