What $111,222 Buys You in 3 Saint Paul Neighborhoods

Posted by Barker and Hedges - Re/Max Results on Wednesday, December 31st, 1969 at 6:00pm.

As I mentioned in Tuesday’s post, I was inspired by a Star Tribune article called “What $424,900 buys you in …” to write my own version of what $150,320 buys you in Minneapolis. That is the average price a home sold for in January 2009 according to statistics provided by the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors.  Well, now as promised it’s time to write about Saint Paul.  Here is what $111,222 will buy you in three neighborhoods of St. Paul, which is the average price a home there sold for in January.

Do you need to be smack-dab in the middle of everything? Real estate in Downtown St. Paul may be just what you’ve been craving.

This amazing condo on 10th Street West is one of our featured listings right now.  Built in 1980, this condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.  The master bedroom is huge and the living room is spacious and airy.  Living here offers residents access to many amenities, including extra storage, a party room, exercise room, whirlpool and sauna!  This condo is priced at $109,900.

Looking for something a little more grounded?  This single-family home located on Capitol Heights may be what you’ve been looking for.  There is a lot of new stuff in this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home, including electrical, flooring, roofing, even a new bathroom!  Built in 1911, all 1,530 square feet of it could be yours for just $99,900.

Don’t let the empty look of this condo, also on 10th Street turn you off.  Think of it as a clean white canvas, just waiting for the right person to turn it into a piece of art.  Let the spectacular views of the Capitol Building and Cathedral inspire you.  Patio doors from living Room and bedroom give you quick access to some fresh air. Superb location close to absolutely everything!  This unit is priced just a little above average, at $119,000.

The Highland Park neighborhood of Saint Paul is a coveted address, and you can live there for $111,222 or less.

This quaint and convenient Highland condo on Benson Avenue is on the main level of the building and has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a private entrance, and 1 car garage (plus 1 assigned space).  At 724 square feet, it’s a little on the smallish side, but what it lacks in stature it makes up for in on-site amenities, including a swimming pool. You can live here for $100,000.

This upper-level condo, also on Benson Avenue, boasts a spacious living room with a fireplace and a walk-out onto a private deck.  This home looks sharp, with a sleek kitchen and new maple hardwood flooring. This condo also has access to a swimming pool, among other amenities. This home is priced at $108,800.

Last but not least, let’s explore the Battle Creek – Sunray – Highwood neighborhoods of Saint Paul.

Doesn’t this 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom home on Pacific Street just look adorable?  You might use a different word for it, especially if you’re a guy, but I can get away with it because I’m a girl.  This home built in 1904 has a lot of its original interior woodwork and also has retained its stained glass windows.  This home on a small lot is a good alternative to town home living, with minimal maintenance required.  Its priced at $109,900.

Enjoy one-level living on Pathways Drive in this 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom.   Many updates to this home include Pergo flooring. This is a great end unit with a semi-private patio and no shared entry. It’s priced just a little above average at $114,000.

This spacious home on Highwood Avenue is also on a space, 1/3 acre lot.  Sounds scintillating, right? I know, I love big yards, especially nature-filled wooded lots like this one.  This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home was built in 1979.  It also seems to have a mother-in-law apartment.  New roof, gutters, updated kitchen and a finished walk-out basement makes this place worth checking out. It’s also priced just a little above average at $114,900.

There you have it, what you can buy for about $111,222 in 3 Saint Paul neighborhoods.  I think I will do another post like this in the future, only the prices will be different. Maybe I’ll use the same price-range to show you what the possibilities are if you adjust your target neighborhood just a little bit, but maintain your target price.
