Cedar Lake MN Real Estate

Cedar Lake is a lake in Minneapolis, Minnesota on the west side. Cedar Lake is located north of Lake Calhoun and west of Lake of the Isles. Cedar Lake is surrounded by parkland to the west and on the east side, is the Kenwood neighborhood. The north side of Cedar Lake is bordered by Cedar Lake Trail and the BNSF Railway.

Cedar Lake is part of the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway and connects with the Theodore Wirth Park and Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles via the parkway system. The Cedar Lake tr4ail serves as a recreational trail and as a link for non-motorized commuters to reach the downtown core of Minneapolis. There are three separate paths on the Cedar Lake trail – one for pedestrians and one for each west bound and east bound bicyclists and skaters.

Cedar Lake is popular for outdoor activities during the summer such as swimming and canoeing and has two official swimming beaches. There’s a third, unofficial beach that is known as Hidden Beach that is located on the north east side of Cedar Lake and remains the most popular swimming and sunbathing area on the lake.

The homes of Kenwood neighborhood that make up the eastern border of Cedar Lake feature stately and fabulous homes that extend themselves to the upper middle and upper class families of the area. The scenery is exquisite throughout the homes on the ridge of Kenwood looking out over Cedar Lake.
