Just west of downtown Minneapolis lies a large neighborhood named Bryn Mawr, which forms an odd shape that juts out eastward into the city. The borders of the neighborhood include some parkland, with Thodore Wirth Park forming a border to the north and west and Basset Creek to the north as well. Bryn Mawr Meadows forms an eastern border for the neighborhood, and Cedar Lake Park forms the southern border.

The Cedar-Isles-Dean neighborhood is located on the very western edge of the city of Minneapolis, and is a part of the Calhoun-Isles community. This beautiful community is full of life and ready to embrace nature, with trails running through the lake region neighborhood and plenty of parkland in the Chain of Lakes area.

Cedar-Isles-Dean is bounded by Lake Street to the south, Lake of the Isles to the north and east, and France Avenue to the west. It sits upon Cedar Lake, which it shares with Bryn Mawr neighborhood and Kenwood neighborhood as well as Lake of the Isles, which it also shares with Kenwood. The neighborhood itself was named for Cedar Lake and Lake of the Isles as well as for A.J. Dean, one of the donors of Dean Parkway in 1892.
