Minneapolis Neighborhoods
The Como neighborhood in Southeast Minneapolis runs along Como Ave near the University of Minnesota. The neighborhood is largely residential, with much of the housing stock converted into student housing. The neighborhood includes Van Cleve Park, an active park with facilities for basketball, hockey, soccer, an ice rink and a broomball court along with a playground and tot lot, a wading pool and picnic area. The neighborhood is flavored by its student population, and includes many small retail stores, three churches and a mosque. Housing prices in the Como neighborhood are below the Minneapolis median, with homes available in the low $100,000s. The neighborhood is in the process of renovation and poised to become a thriving urban neighborhood with many of the amenities of community involvement.
