Corcoran features easy rail access to downtown, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport and the Mall of America via a light rail. The community has easy access around the Twin Cities because of the light rail and this has brought many new opportunities to the neighborhood.
Housing in Corcoran is a even split between owner-occupied housing and rental properties, with about 60% of the land in the area devoted to single-family detached homes. The median home price for homes in the Corcoran neighborhood has been significantly lower than the median home prices in greater Minneapolis, but that has slowly been changing as more and more properties are renovated and updated.
