Downtown East - Minneapolis MN Homes & Condos MLS

The Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association has taken an active role in defining a 'neighborhood code of conduct' that identifies Downtown East as a neighborhood that is clean, attractive and well maintained, where residents are courteous and friendly toward each other and where there are regular activities to engage neighborhood residents.

The Downtown East neighborhood is home to several parks and museums, including the Mill City Museum, which just opened in 2006. The image of Downtown East is changing as more and more of the land is renovated and new families move into the area. Between 1990 and 2000, the proportion of owner-occupied housing and residential housing overall increased tenfold. That trend continues, and today's Downtown East is becoming a popular residential neighborhood for young professionals who enjoy the bright lights and atmosphere of a big city.
