East Harriet - Minneapolis Homes and Condos MLS
East Harriet was one of the first of Minneapolis's many neighborhoods to participate in the city's Neighborhood Revitalization Plan. The East Harriet Farmstead Neighborhood Association was formed in 1991 and continues to be a vital part of the community and a driving force behind improvements to the area. East Harriet is a high income neighborhood, with the median family income about 40% higher than the median income for the city. The housing is equally divided between owner occupied single homes and rental housing, which attracts a large proportion of young, successful professionals who are active within the neighborhood and help shape its face.
The population is young, hip and diverse, with nearly half the residents falling between 29 and 44 years of age as of 2000. The parks, Lake Harriet, and outdoor trails of the neighborhood offer a wonderful playspace for young families and older professionals alike, and the neighborhood continues to grow and thrive under the guidance of the EHFNA's long range planning goals.
