Field Minneapolis Real Estate
The Field neighborhood was named for popular writer of children's poetry, Eugene Field. The residential neighborhood on Minneapolis' south side is a lovely community of small 1940s-era homes in brick, stone and stucco that lend the neighborhood the charm of a bygone era. The tree-lined streets and pretty lots mask a history of social activism that have made the Field neighborhood a national benchmark in many ways.

The Field Regina Northrop Neighborhood Group is one of the earliest neighborhood associations in Minneapolis. Beginning in 1965, the FRNG pioneered urban activism in campaigns that helped end red-lining practices of lenders in Minneapolis neighborhoods, established mid-block lighting and created safer neighborhoods around the city, and helped protect local natural resources from poorly designed renovation efforts. In the 1970s, the Field Elementary School combined with the nearby Hale Elementary school in an effort that was nationally lauded as a successful integration attempt.
