Minneapolis Neighborhoods
Once one of the city's poorer and least attractive neighborhoods, Howe is a prime example of community involvement in action. Since 1989, the Howe neighborhood has undergone a substantial facelift. The neighborhood is located along the southeast side of Minneapolis and bounded on the east by the Mississippi River. The homes along the riverside have been largely renovated and upgraded, with further renovations continuing inward from the river toward downtown.
Howe - Minneapolis MN Homes & Condos MLS
These days, Howe is an attractive residential community where the median income and home values are on a par or slightly above the median incomes and home values for Minneapolis proper. The Longfellow Community Council is actively involved in monitoring and directing the renovation of the river gorge and parks along the Mississippi. The Howe neighborhood is a beautiful scenic district, with wooded walking paths and hiking trails along the river gorge. Activities at the local parks offer many opportunities for outdoor and indoor recreation for singles, seniors and families alike.
