Minneapolis Neighborhoods
Loring Park is one of the largest parks in Minnesota, and is found smack dab in the center of Minneapolis. It was known as Central Park for a long time, until it was renamed to honor the first superintendent of the park system in Minneapolis, Charles Loring. Today, Loring Park is also the name of the surrounding neighborhood, which is filled with both residential areas and businesses.
The Loring Park neighborhood is home to a number of historical building in Minneapolis, including the Basilica of Saint Mary, The Woman's Club, the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, and the Guthrie Theatre. The Walker Art Center is also closeby. The park itself is a cultural center, hosting a number of carnivals and festivals every year during the spring, summer, and fall.
Loring Park - Minneapolis MN Homes & Condos MLS
Loring Park is in the southern part of downtown Minneapolis, so much of the real estate belongs to business like cafes and specialty shops. A number of the housing units also belong to renters. If you are interested in purchasing a home in the area, you can expect to pay much more than you would in other places in the city-around $225,000. However, if you're interested in living in the middle of the action and love the natural part of the neighborhood in the park, you should consider moving to this area.
