McKinley Minneapolis Real Estate
If you enjoy the thought of relaxing by the river, McKinley could be the perfect neighborhood for you. This community, which is found in northern Minneapolis, lies on the west shore of the Mississippi River and was named for President William McKinley, one of the presidents of the United States during the time when this neighborhood was first developed. An elementary school here bears the same name.
The neighborhood is filled with trees and the gorgeous sights of the Mississippi River. The neighborhood is located just minutes away from downtown Minneapolis, but this community does not feel like an urban neighborhood at all.
McKinely is mostly a residential area with single-family homes that were built in the early 20th century. There area also stucco Tudor-style homes and 1.5 to 2-story Bungalows.

At one time, the North River Industrial Area, which stretches along the Mississippi River to Interstate 94, was a part of McKinley as well, but this piece of land officially became its own community in 1996; this made McKinley a more residential and less industrial place to live. Most of the homes in this area are original and were built in the 1920s. Single-family houses are most common, with wooden frames being the norm.
There are several local businesses and recreational areas catering to families in the neighborhood, making this a terrific place to live. You are a bit farther away from the downtown area of Minneapolis, and, thus, the hustle and bustle of that part of the city, but very close to a number of industrial centers where work can be found.
