Minnehaha Minneapolis Real Estate

Minnehaha, located in Southeast Minneapolis, takes its name from the Ojibwe Indian legend told in The Song of Hiawatha, a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The name Minnehaha means "laughing waters", and the waterfall located in Minnehaha Park is named as such in Longfellow's poem. Along with several other neighborhoods in the South of Minneapolis, Minnehaha underwent major redevelopment in the late nineteenth century, prompted by the arrival of Streetcars in the city.

The neighborhood of Minnehaha is now home to around five thousand people, and there is plenty here for residents to enjoy. Minnehaha Park is one of the oldest and most popular parks in the city, with more than half a million visitors every year. This 193 acre park is simply beautiful, with an enormous variety of trees and plants, as well as the 53-foot waterfall that gives the park its name. Minnehaha Park is also the location for several community events throughout the year.
