Minneapolis Neighborhoods
Located on the South-Eastern border of the Minneapolis city limits, the neighborhood of Morris Park is named after Mary C. Morris, daughter of Franklin Steele, the first European-American to reside in St. Anthony (now a Minneapolis neighborhood located on the East bank of the Mississippi).
In the present day, Morris Park is part of the Nokomis East Neighborhood Association, which also includes the neighborhoods of Keewaydin, Minnehaha, and Wenonah. These neighborhoods are replete with parks, playgrounds, and lakes as well as conveniently located public amenities such as a library, retail stores, and post office. Of course, Morris Park itself is one of the most popular parks in the neighborhood, boasting a basketball court, soccer field, pool, and picnic areas.
