Minneapolis Neighborhoods

Situated in the East Central region of Minneapolis, Prospect Park is bordered on the East by the City of Saint Paul and on the West by the University of Minnesota. To the South of this neighborhood lie the banks of the Mississippi River, and in the North, Prospect Park is bordered by the South East industrial area of Minneapolis.

Located close to the Downtown districts of both Minneapolis and St. Paul, most residences in this neighborhood are within easy walking distance of a wide variety of recreational activities, entertainment venues, and shopping centers.

Prospect Park is lined with gently curving streets situated on steep hills, and the public events that frequently occur in the area lend this neighborhood a delightful community feeling. Residents of Prospect Park can enjoy the Fire and Ice Festival in February, the Spring Holiday Concert in April, and the Luxton Park Painter's Art Show in May, and many more community events.

The neighborhood's most prominent landmark is known as the "Witch's Hat". This water tower, built in 1913, is a familiar sight to the neighborhood's seven thousand residents. Also here is Wiley House, designed by famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. There are numerous beautiful residences in the area, located in three main residential districts.
