Windom Park Minneapolis Real Estate

Windom Park is located in the Northeast community in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The boundaries of Windom Park are Lowry Avenue Northeast, New Brighton Boulevard, 18th Avenue Northeast and Central Avenue. Windom Park was named after William Windom, who was a United States senator from Minnesota from the mid to late 1800s as well as the secretary of the treasury.

Windom Park is a mainly residential neighborhood with predominately single family dwellings in the eastern part of Windom Park. Multi family buildings are predominate in the western quadrant close to Central Avenue. The housing stock in Windom Park is evenly split between owned properties and rented properties. The rented properties in Windom Park are primarily a complex of apartment buildings located between Ulysses and Arthur Street, south of 19th Avenue. There are other rental properties scattered throughout Windom Park with more being on the west side of Johnson.

Many of the homes in the west part of the neighborhood were built between 1895 and 1810, providing for some beautiful architecture. On the east side of Windom Park, most of the homes were built after World War II. Central Avenue, Windom Park's western border is an active commercial corridor featuring many ethnic restaurants.
