Walking down Oakdale’s graceful, sweeping streets, it’s hard to believe that the bright lights and bustle of a major metropolitan area lay just ten minutes away down I-94. Stately homes and lush hills create a rural feeling that is bolstered by the extensive system of parks, trails, lakes and golf courses that are available to residents. The scenic outdoors encourages an active, outdoor lifestyle with a wide range of recreational activities year round. Hunting, fishing, boating and hiking are all part of the Oakdale way of life, along with swimming, skiing and biking.

If you long for community, the city is the type that hosts ice cream socials on the library lawn and family picnics on the green for the Fourth of July. Three major highways make it an easy commute to major corporate employers like 3M, State Farm Insurance and Imation, while the system of parks and playgrounds make the picturesque little community a favorite with young families.

The city is part of the Maplewood-North St. Paul-Oakdale School district, which includes nine elementary schools, three middle schools and two high schools.
