Plymouth MN Area Information
Interestingly, the history of Plymouth stems back a good 600 years, during the pre-Colombian era. However, the first settler made his way into the region in 1848 and settled down four years later. Over time, more settlers arrived, and Plymouth began to take the shape of a town with many structures, landmarks, and businesses being built and townspeople organizing themselves. By 1955, Plymouth was fully incorporated as an official village, and in 1974 became a statutory city.
Plymouth boasts an excellent education system, complete with five different school districts: Wayzata District 284, Robbinsdale District 281, Osseo District 279, West Metro Education Project District 6069, and Hopkins District 270, as well as a number of private schools and colleges.
Recreational programs, including classes, sports, entertainment, and special events and trips, are available for adults, youth, children, seniors, and those with disabilities.
