Twin Cities Home Events: September

Parade of Homes.  During the month of September and part of October, take the time to tour the 60th Parade of Homes. Presented by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities, there are 497 model homes in 105 communities throughout the Twin Cities metro area on this year’s Twin Cities Parade of Homes.  The homes range from a $119,900 townhouse in Cambridge to a $3.5 million stately house in Wayzata. There will also be more than 100 free seminars offered on topics such as home staging, home buying and selling tips, eco-friendly landscaping and green building.  These informational discussions will be held at homes on the parade.  The 60th Parade of Homes will be held on weekends from September 6th through October 5th.  The houses will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Free, with the exception of a $5 charitable donation to the two Dream Homes. Guidebooks are available at Twin Cities Holiday station stores and at www.paradeofhomes.org.

Homes by Architects Tour.  On the Homes by Architects Tour, more than 25 homes designed by members of the Minnesota chapter of the American Institute of Architects in the Twin Cities, Lindstrom and Lake City, Minn. Architects will be in homes to answer questions. Appetizers prepared by Twin Cities chefs will be offered in select homes.  The Homes by Architects Tour takes place on September 20th and 21st, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be ordered at www.homesbyarchitects.org and 612-338-6763.
