The Como neighborhood in northeast Minneapolis runs along Como Ave near the University of Minnesota. The neighborhood is largely residential, with most of the housing converted into student accommodations. The neighborhood features Van Cleve Park, an active park with facilities for soccer, hockey, basketball, an ice rink and a broom ball court; it also features an area with a playground and a spot for small children, as well as a wading pool for the warmer months, and a spacious picnic area.

The neighborhood is lively with its student population and includes many small retail stores, three churches and a mosque. The neighborhood recently had a facelift so to speak, a renovation of the infrastructure and community which has it acting more like a thriving urban area.
