Downtown East - Minneapolis MN Homes & Condos MLS
The Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association has taken an active role in defining a 'neighborhood code of conduct' that identifies Downtown East as a neighborhood that is clean, attractive and well-maintained, where residents are courteous and friendly towards each other and where there are regular activities to engage neighborhood residents.
The Downtown East neighborhood is home to several parks and museums, including the Mill City Museum, which opened in 2006. The image of Downtown East is changing as more and more of the land is restored and modernized, incentivizing new families move into the area. Over the last few decades, the proportion of residential and owner-occupied housing increased significantly. That trend continues and today's Downtown East is becoming a popular residential neighborhood for young professionals who enjoy the bright lights and atmosphere of a big city.
