St. Anthony MN Real Estate
St Anthony (also known as St. Anthony Village) is in close proximity to Minneapolis and St. Paul but has been able to retain its small town charm and atmosphere over the years. St. Anthony Village is actually located within both Hennepin County and Ramsey County. The population of just over 8,000 residents is a tight-knit community where many of its neighbors know each other and make time for one another. St. Anthony has two great mottos to help anyone get a grasp on what this area is all about: "A Walkable Community" and "A Village Within a City."
St. Anthony established as a township back in 1861 and in 1945 became a village. In 1974, all the villages in Minnesota were officially named cities; despite this, this area is still often referred to as St. Anthony Village.
The city itself is only 2.37 square miles, with only 0.12 of that total area being made up of water. The cities busiest and most notable street is Silver Lake Road which traverses St. Anthony from north to south. While St. Anthony is only a few minutes from Downtown Minneapolis, the city has easy access to the Minnesota highways which makes the greater Twin Cities easily accessible.
This area is beautiful and is very pedestrian and biker friendly. The city has outdoor recreation opportunities, shopping and dining within the city and the surrounding areas and retains its strong sense of community. Come check out what St. Anthony has to offer.
