Waconia MN Area Information

Each August, the city hosts the Annual Carver County Fair which has been running for over 100 years. The fair offers fun rides, and local food favorites.

For great fishing, boating, windsurfing, or lounging in the sun, you should head to Lake Waconia. It is the largest lake in Carver County, with its own small island, and million dollar homes at its shores. The lake is the home of the Lake Waconia Triathlon each year.

A new Ice Hockey Arena and American Inn Hotel were recently constructed to add to the Waconia excitement, and tourism. The city also recently added new commercial properties and residential properties including single-family homes, senior apartments/condos, and townhomes.

Ridgeview Medical Center, a 109-bed acute care hospital is located on Maple Street in Waconia. The center includes clinics, emergency services, and specialty services, and has been treating patients since 1954. It is a first-rate medical center for all your health needs.

Crown College is located just miles from the city of Waconia. It sits on a 215-acre campus and teaches about 1,400 students. Waconia has a lot to offer in the city itself, but if you choose, you can travel just 30 minutes west to the Twin Cities, the hub of Minnesota. You can enjoy living in a more intimate town, and be minutes from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Waconia lets you have your cake and eat it too.
